Skybound prototype


Skybound is the first game where I try to take prototyping seriously. During my first year of game dev I have too many times been stuck on a project for months and then realising the game is not even fun. Prototyping could be medicine to that problem, since you get a look on the game before really even making it. With this prototype I wanted to encapsulate the core gameplay loop for Skybound to find out if it's any fun.

The core loop of the game goes like this: Player spawns in the base, heads out to collect bounties on hostile planes and heads back to base to upgrade the plane. I want to create an extraction feel to the game, where there is always a risk of the plane getting destroyed. The systems that make extraction game are not fully there yet, since this prototype is for testing player movement, combat and altitude system.
